A client called me once, genuinely frustrated. Their website had just gone live. Clean design, fast loading, looked great on mobile. Two months later nothing. No traffic. Not even a ranking for their own business name.
I went in to take a look. The site was beautifully built. But from an SEO standpoint, it was basically invisible.
That call stuck with me. Because this wasn’t a one-off. I’ve seen it happen to small businesses, retail shops, service companies. A good-looking website that Google simply ignores. And almost every time, it comes down to the same handful of mistakes.
Here are ten of them.
- No keyword research done before building
Most sites are built around what the owner thinks people search for. Not what they actually type. Those two things are rarely the same. Real keyword research changes how you write, what pages you create, everything.
- Title tags that say nothing
“Home” or “Welcome to Our Website” I still see these in 2024. Your title tag is one of the first things Google reads. If it doesn’t tell Google what the page is about, you’ve already lost.
- One page trying to rank for everything
A single page stuffed with every service you offer won’t rank well for any of them. Separate pages, separate focus. That’s how it works.
- No location signals
If you’re a business in Kuwait and your site never mentions Kuwait, Google doesn’t know where to rank you. This is something any decent web development company Kuwait-based businesses work with should be getting right from day one.
- Slow loading speed
People leave. Google notices. A site that takes five seconds to load on mobile is losing both visitors and rankings. Page speed isn’t optional anymore.
- Duplicate content across pages
Copy-pasting similar text across service pages or locations might seem like a shortcut. It isn’t. Google either ignores those pages or penalizes them. Every page needs something genuinely its own.
- Skipping meta descriptions
They don’t directly affect rankings, but they affect clicks. A blank or auto-generated meta description means fewer people click through from search results, which eventually does hurt rankings. Worth the five minutes it takes.
- Ignoring Google Search Console
This one surprises people. A lot of business owners have never opened it. Search Console tells you which pages Google has indexed, which ones have errors, what people are searching to find you. It’s free. There’s no reason not to use it.
- No content strategy
A five-page website with no blog, no updates, no new content Google sees a site that isn’t active. Businesses that work with a good digital marketing agency in Kuwait usually get this sorted early. Fresh, relevant content keeps your site in the conversation.
- Poor internal linking
Your pages should connect to each other in a way that makes sense. If Google crawls your homepage and can’t easily reach your service pages, those pages don’t get the authority they need. It’s a small thing that quietly matters a lot.
Here’s the honest part most of these mistakes aren’t complicated to fix. They just get missed when a website is built purely for looks without thinking about search.
A business in Kuwait selling real services deserves to show up when someone’s looking for them. That’s the whole point of being online. A website design service in Kuwait that builds without SEO in mind is really only doing half the job.
Go through this list. If more than three of these describe your site, that’s probably why you’re not ranking. Start there.
